2 Critically Injured, Suspect Arrested in Benton County Shooting
Benton County Officials are investigating a shooting in Gilmanton Township that left two men critically injured Sunday afternoon.
Officers were called to the scene around 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 13, following a report that two people had been shot at a residence in the 9900 block of 95th Avenue Northeast.

Deputies arrived to find two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim had been shot in the neck, while the second victim sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Both victims were transported to St. Cloud Hospital by ambulance. As of Sunday evening, they remain in critical condition, according to the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
During the initial response, deputies were informed that the suspected shooter was still nearby. After a search of the area, they located the suspect hiding in a barn near the scene. The suspect, also an adult male, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Benton County Jail. He is being held pending charges and will remain in custody until his initial court appearance. He has not yet been identified.
The sheriff's office believes it was an isolated incident and said there’s no further threat to the public. While the investigation is still ongoing, officials stated they are not searching for any additional suspects.
The identities of the victims are being withheld pending family notification. Officials say they will release further details after those notifications are made. No information regarding a possible motive or details on what led up to the shooting have been released.
