3 Dead, 1 Critical After Incident in Roseville Saturday Morning

Roseville police say three people are dead and one is critically injured after an incident around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
According to a media release, Roseville Police were called to an apartment building on the 1600 block of Eldridge Avenue at 2:24 a.m. on a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers encountered an adult male with a severe laceration to his throat.
Officers began providing aid and discovered three additional adult males inside, all deceased from apparent knife and gunshot wounds.
Police say one of the deceased men is suspected of carrying out the attack after ingesting some type of “hallucinogenic” drug. The man is then suspected of fatally shooting himself.
The initial male with the neck laceration is believed to have been one of the victims and was able to escape after the attack. Authorities say they do not believe there is an ongoing risk to the public and no suspects are being sought.

Authorities on Tuesday released new details on the deaths. Preliminary investigation says that Nou Xiong, 33, was found with a life-threatening laceration to his throat at the apartment. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and is now in stable condition.
Xiong’s girlfriend, who was not at the scene, called in the initial welfare check on Xiong after receiving a text message saying he was injured and needed medical help. She told authorities that she knew Xiong had been hanging out with three of his friends at the apartment.
Inside the apartment, the three adult males who were found dead were John Thao, 32, Fong Vang, 32, and Meng Vang, 32, who was a resident of the apartment, according to Roseville police.
John Thao’s death was ruled as a homicide by sharp force and Fong Vang’s death was from sharp force and a gunshot. Meng Vang’s death was ruled as a suicide by gunshot and he is believed to have been the suspect.
According to Xiong, Meng Vang suddenly started attacking him with a knife before Xiong was able to escape to a bedroom and call for help. Prior to the incident, there had been no police-related calls at the residence nor contact with the suspect, Meng Vang.
“Our thoughts are with those impacted by Saturday morning’s tragic events. We will continue to investigate and hope to provide as many answers as possible for the families,” Police Chief Erika Scheider said in a statement.
Police say initial indications are that “hallucinogenic” drugs may have been a “contributing factor” and investigation remains active.
