Brooklyn Park Woman Mauled by Three Pit Bulls

Brooklyn Park police say a woman is in critical but stable condition after being mauled by her three pit bulls at Huntington Place Apartments on the 5800 block of 73rd Avenue North.

The incident occurred Tuesday around 9:26 p.m. when officers were called to the scene following reports of a woman yelling for help.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult female with severe injuries from a dog attack. Authorities say the three pit bulls involved in the attack belonged to the woman and her boyfriend. Officers immediately administered medical aid before the victim was transported to a hospital, where she remains in critical but stable condition.

The exact cause of the attack remains under investigation. A security guard at Huntington Place Apartments also sustained injuries while attempting to intervene. Police say the guard suffered injuries to his left hand during the effort and managed to injure one of the dogs in the process.

Brooklyn Park police report that after an "exhaustive effort," two of the pit bulls were taken into custody. One dog was euthanized at the scene due to aggressive behavior, and the second dog was later euthanized because of the severity of its injuries. The third dog has been quarantined at an animal shelter.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack and the behavior of the dogs. No further information is available at this time, and police have not disclosed any additional details regarding the status of the investigation.
