4 Injured in Overnight Shootings in Minneapolis
At least four individuals were injured in shootings in Minneapolis overnight.
According to scanner traffic, police were sent to two shooting scenes where two victims were located at each scene.
The first shooting occurred in downtown Minneapolis when an officer located a vehicle with two shooting victims inside near South Marquette Avenue & South 7th Street just after 2:15 a.m. Paramedics were called to the scene and transported one individual with a gunshot wound to the ankle, and another victim with two gunshot wounds to the leg.
According to scanner traffic, the shooting likely occurred on 6th Street South near Marquette Avenue, and surveillance footage in the area captured a white Chevy Malibu that was possibly involved in the shooting.
A second shooting was reported in south Minneapolis near 2100 Lyndale Avenue South. When police officers arrived, they immediately called for more squads due to a large and uncooperative crowd. Additional squads arrived and located two victims with gunshot wounds, and paramedics were called to transport them to the hospital.
According to scanner traffic, one victim was found in a vehicle and suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, while the second victim suffered a gunshot wound to the left chest. Both victims were conscious and breathing while being taken to the hospital.
It’s unknown if any suspects are in custody for either shooting, or if they are related. An update on the victims’ conditions has not been released by police as of 11:30 a.m.
