Man Found Fatally Shot in Saint Paul’s North End
Saint Paul police are investigating after a man was fatally shot in a North-End neighborhood late Saturday night.
Officers were called to the area of Woodbridge Street and Wheelock Parkway just before 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12 after receiving multiple reports of shots fired.
Officers found a man lying near the intersection with multiple gunshot wounds. According to police radio dispatches, the victim was found with wounds to the abdomen, leg and jaw. He was unresponsive and CPR was underway shortly before 9:55 p.m.
Saint Paul Fire medics arrived and transported the man to Regions Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. Homicide investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are processing the scene for evidence, including any potential video footage from the area.
According to initial police radio dispatches just after the shooting, a possible suspect vehicle was described as a dark-colored sedan with damage to the front-end, last seen eastbound on Wheelock at a high speed. No arrests have been announced and no official suspect information released.
The victim has not yet been officially identified. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to confirm his identity and the exact cause of death.
