Man Killed in Robbinsdale Shooting Monday Evening

A 22-year-old Hastings man was killed Monday evening in Robbinsdale in what police are calling a targeted shooting.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire near Lowry Avenue North and Indiana Avenue North shortly after 5 p.m. on December 2.

En route to the scene, police received an alert from a crash detection system indicating a single-car collision in the area.

When officers arrived, they found a vehicle that had struck an object and located the driver, later identified as Treyvon Marcellis Molette, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Officers provided emergency medical aid until Molette was transported to North Memorial Health Hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at 5:34 p.m.

Robbinsdale Police, working with Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigators, continue to investigate. Preliminary findings suggest the incident was not random, and authorities say there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

Molette’s death marks the first homicide in Robbinsdale in 2024. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the manner of death as homicide and the cause as a gunshot wound to the chest.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Robbinsdale Police as the investigation remains ongoing.
