The Minnesota State Patrol dispatched a helicopter to search the crash area for additional victims after a pair of shoes found in the roadway raised concerns about a victim that may have been ejected. The helicopter left the scene after no other individuals were located.

A State Patrol crash reconstruction team is investigating the incident and roads are expected to be closed for an extended period of time, including for repairs to a utility pole struck by the victim’s vehicle after the initial collision.

UPDATE | Saturday, Dec. 14

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the victim who was struck by the fleeing suspect has died of his injuries at the hospital. The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Nicholas John Price, remains jailed pending formal charges including criminal vehicular homicide.
