Police Seek 2 After Juvenile Found Shot in Woodbury
Woodbury police are searching for two suspects after a juvenile was found shot in a crashed vehicle late Monday afternoon.
Police say they responded to a 911 call just before 4:30 p.m. on the 500 block of Lake View Drive where a caller reported that a car had crashed through a garage and someone had been shot.
Officers arrived and found a juvenile male that had suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Another juvenile passenger was not injured. Police did not release the age of the victim nor the extent of his injury, but initial dispatch audio indicated he was found two gunshot wounds to the back of the neck and was reported to still be conscious and breathing before medics arrived.
Police say two suspects ran from the scene before officers arrived. According to initial scanner traffic review by MN CRIME, a large perimeter was set and officers were using drones in an attempt to locate the suspects, but as of Monday evening, they have not been located.
Police were able to speak with the victim, who reportedly knew the suspects and said that the shooting was a result of a disagreement.
Woodbury police said the incident took place inside the vehicle before the crash, but the exact location of the shooting was not initially released. The extent of damage to the structure was also not clear.
The suspects were described by police as two black males, one wearing a black hoodie with white writing on the back, grey pants, black shoes and a camo-patterned mask. The second suspect was described as a black male wearing a black puffer jacket, dark athletic pants with white stripes and white shoes.
Woodbury police said in a written statement that there is no threat to the public and asked anyone with information to call the department at (651) 714-3600.
