Scuba Diver Dies in St. Louis County Lake

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says a 31-year-old Canadian man died Friday morning while scuba diving with another person at Pike Lake.

Emergency responders were called to the Pike Lake Public Access in Canosia Township around 10:30 a.m. for a report of a man who had gone underwater. Arriving responders learned that the man had been scuba diving with another person near the dock, but went underwater shortly after requesting help getting back to the dock.

The man’s diving partner was able to pull him from the water within minutes and began life-saving efforts, but they were ultimately unsuccessful. The 31-year-old man from Alberta, Canada was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The man’s name has not been released yet, pending family notifications.
