3 Dead After 2-Vehicle Crash in Anoka County

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a crash left three people dead, including two young children just after 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened near the intersection of Bunker Lake Boulevard NE. & Butternut Street NW. on the border of Ham Lake and Andover.

According to a media release, early indications show that an SUV being driven by an adult male was traveling westbound on Bunker Lake Boulevard NE. when it crossed the median and crashed head-on into a pickup truck towing a trailer heading eastbound.

Shortly after responders arrived, the adult male driver and a toddler passenger were declared deceased at the scene.

An infant passenger was transported by LifeLink III helicopter where they were later pronounced deceased.

A third juvenile passenger was transported by North Memorial medical helicopter where they are listed in critical condition.

The adult female passenger was transported via ambulance and is listed in serious condition.

The two adult males in the pickup truck sustained minor injuries and were evaluated by paramedics on scene.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office says the crash is still under investigation.

The individuals who were in the SUV have been identified as:

Driver:

  • Lee Vang, age 28, from Andover (Deceased)

Passengers:

  • Astrid Lee, age 3, from Andover (Deceased)

  • Levi Lee, age 6 months, from Andover (Deceased)

  • Kyria Lee, age 7, from Andover

  • Rhodia Xiong, age 26, from Andover
