VIDEO: Standoff After Squad-Ramming in Eagan

Dramatic video shows the moments after an armed suspect rammed an Eagan police squad car and started a brief standoff on a busy south Twin Cities roadway.

The driver of the Jeep, Joshua Cameron Hanes, 32, allegedly rammed a squad car after officers attempted to stop his vehicle.

It prompted a large police response Monday, March 22, to the area of Pilot Knob Rd. & I-35E around 4 p.m.

Eagan police were asked by St. Paul police to help with stopping the Jeep, occupied by two people with felony warrants who were believed to be armed. The driver of the Jeep, Joshua Cameron Hanes, 32, allegedly rammed a squad car after officers attempted to stop his vehicle. Both Hanes and his passenger, Taryn Rose Tillman, 32, refused to exit the Jeep after the crash and a brief standoff ensued.

Officers from multiple jurisdictions came to assist and traffic was blocked in the area. Video released to MN CRIME from the Minnesota Department of Transportation shows both Hanes and Tillman eventually exiting the Jeep with their hands up and being taken into custody.
