Woman Who Struck Oak Park Heights Squad Appears in Court

A 26-year-old woman appeared in a Washington County court earlier this month to face two charges of criminal vehicular operation after she allegedly struck an Oak Park Heights police squad car on Highway 36 near Stillwater Blvd. last December.

The officer was responding to a report of a pedestrian in the median before 2:20 a.m. when his vehicle was struck by Britney Lynn Greener, of Rice Lake, Wisc. on December 24, 2021.

Officers reported that the squad car was wedged into the cable median barrier after being struck by Greener.

A passenger in her vehicle suffered a broken ankle as a result of the crash. The officer suffered minor injuries and was evaluated by medics.

The passenger told officers that Greener was driving at a high rate of speed before the crash. Another witness reported that Greener was driving in excess of 80 miles per hour and erratically before the crash.

Officers obtained a search warrant to draw Greener’s blood which was sent to the BCA for testing. Results from the blood test found Greener’s blood alcohol concentration was 0.181, more than twice the legal limit.

Greener has been convicted twice previously of operating while intoxicated in Wisconsin, once in Sept. 2016 and again in March of 2017.

In April 2017, Greener was a passenger in a rollover crash where she was trapped in the vehicle and was flown to a hospital with serious injuries. Deputies initially reported that alcohol was believed to be a factor in that crash, but the driver was later cited for failing to keep control of a vehicle and operating while suspended.

Greener posted bond and is out of custody on conditions including an alcohol monitor and no alcohol or controlled substance use.

Greener is due in court again on July 28. She faces up to three years in prison if convicted. Her booking photo was not immediately available.
