Five Injured in Burnsville Shooting, No Arrests Made

Police say that five people were shot at Red Oak Park in Burnsville Friday night.

The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. when officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots fired in the area.

Upon arrival, police discovered multiple individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Police say three people were transported to a local hospital by ambulance, one arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle and another was treated at the scene and released.

UPDATE: Police gave details in mid-September, saying there had been no arrests made and investigation was continuing.

The conditions of the victims have not been disclosed, and no information is available regarding what led up to the shooting. Burnsville police have not made any arrests and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“Cooperation between Burnsville Police and Fire and our public safety partner communities is exceptional. I cannot overstate the importance of these partnerships, especially during critical incidents,” said Police Chief Tanya Schwartz. “It is through these partnerships and with collaboration and cooperation from our community that we have the best chance to solve these senseless crimes.” 

Residents were advised to avoid the area due to ongoing police activity, and investigators are expected to continue their work through Saturday.
