Officers arrived at the gas station and found the victim Faisal Abukar, 33, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. Abukar was transported to the hospital and later pronounced deceased.

A person who was with Abukar told police they drove to the gas station to meet up with individuals who were unknown to them. A fight broke out and shortly after, the driver of the second vehicle got out and shot Abukar once in the head. The witness then ran from the scene and hid by a building, but saw the second vehicle leave the parking lot and crash.
