Police were called around 1:52 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14 to the 4500 block of Enchanted Point after a 911 caller reported a boathouse on fire and seeing what appeared to be a burned body in the water.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Phillis Lucille Deboth, of Cottage Grove, was driving a 2007 Saturn Vue southbound in the northbound lanes when she struck a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado at 80th Street.

Cory Shawn Olson faces eight charges, including criminal vehicular homicide and several counts of criminal vehicular operation resulting in great or substantial bodily harm.

Officers were called to a 9th Street South apartment around noon for a domestic dispute. After separating the parties, one man became upset when told he couldn’t take his child with him and left in his vehicle.

The State Patrol said the driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Saint Cloud Hospital. Alcohol was detected in his system, according to the crash report.

Investigators said the man was traveling north on a 2019 Harley-Davidson Road King when he hit a deer and laid the motorcycle down in the northbound lanes.

Fire crews were dispatched to the 100 block of East River Parkway around 8:25 p.m. after the man called from his watch, saying he was stuck in brush and trees and wasn’t sure where he was.

First responding officers arrived to found a man lying in the parking lot with gunshot wounds to his torso. Preliminary information indicates the shooting happened outside the businesses along Suburban Avenue.

According to the Lakeville Police Department, the crash occurred at 11:42 a.m. Oct. 11 on Cedar Avenue just south of 185th Street West. Officers arrived and began medical care for the drivers of both vehicles, who were seriously hurt.

The Duluth Police Department says officers were called around 12:25 a.m. to the 200 block of West 3rd Street after reports of a shooting.

Police arrived to find the victim lying in a pool of blood and with serious injuries to her head and face. Her clothing was soaked in blood and her glasses were shattered nearby.

According to court records, 24-year-old Ismael Vasquez Santos was convicted of two counts of first-degree assault for shooting two men at properties along 95th Avenue Northeast in Gilmanton Township.

According to court records, 42-year-old Jeremy Francis Plonski pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis to one count each of production and distribution of child pornography.

In exchange, prosecutors agreed to dismiss three other charges including attempted second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree aggravated robbery and two other juvenile cases.

Investigators say a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a northbound 2020 Subaru Forester. A 2019 Buick Encore traveling behind the Subaru then struck the wreckage.
