By accessing the website, creating an account, or purchasing products and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. These terms apply to all visitors, users, subscribers, and members.

3. Accounts and Subscriptions

MN CRIME offers free accounts and paid subscription tiers. When you create an account, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through Stripe. You may cancel at any time, and your access will continue through the end of the current billing period. All sales of digital subscriptions are final, and no refunds will be issued for partial billing periods.

4. Data Licensing and API Access

MN CRIME offers licensed data feed access through tiered API plans. API keys are non-transferable and subject to rate limits as defined by your tier. Misuse, including sharing API keys, exceeding rate limits, or redistributing bulk data without authorization, may result in immediate termination of access.

Data obtained through the API may not be used to build a competing product or service without express written permission from MN CRIME LLC.

5. Payment Methods

We accept payments through Stripe and other supported payment platforms. All transactions are processed securely following industry best practices as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

6. Website Use and Restrictions

Users agree not to:

  • Use content for commercial purposes without explicit written permission
  • Modify, distribute, or create derivative works without authorization
  • Share links to protected or member-only content with non-subscribers
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content without API authorization
  • Attempt to circumvent subscription gates or access controls
  • Violate local, state, or federal laws

7. Public Comments and Content

Users may not post content infringing on copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights. MN CRIME reserves the right to remove any such content. Users are solely responsible for ensuring their posted content complies with all applicable laws.

MN CRIME reserves the right to moderate, edit, or remove any comments deemed offensive, inappropriate, or in violation of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the MN CRIME website, including but not limited to text, images, logos, audio, video, graphics, AI-generated summaries, and data compilations, is the property of MN CRIME LLC and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. Commercial use requires express written permission.

9. Copyright Infringement

If you believe content on our site infringes your intellectual property rights, contact contact@mncrime.com with:

  • A description of the copyrighted work
  • The location of the infringing material
  • Your contact information (name, address, email, phone)
  • A statement of good faith belief regarding unauthorized use

10. Advertising

MN CRIME displays sponsored content and advertisements. Advertisements are clearly labeled as “Sponsored” and are served through our self-hosted advertising platform. We do not sell personal user data to advertisers. Ad targeting is based on page context (county, charge type) rather than individual user profiles.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States. Any disputes arising from these terms fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of Minnesota state and federal courts.

12. Changes to Terms

MN CRIME reserves the right to modify or update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with the updated effective date. Continued use of the site after modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Limitation of Liability

MN CRIME will not be held liable for any damages arising from your use of our website, inability to access the site, or reliance on any information provided on the site. All information is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
