Authorities say a motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a Jeep late Friday night in Minnetrista.

At around 10:53 p.m. on Sept. 20, authorities responded to the intersection of Highway 7 and County Road 44, where a 2008 Honda motorcycle collided with a 2019 Jeep Cherokee.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the motorcycle, driven by 24-year-old Johnathan David Hommer, was traveling westbound on Highway 7 when he entered the intersection and made contact with the Jeep, which was also traveling westbound. Hommer was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say he was wearing a helmet and alcohol is believed to be a factor.

The driver of the Jeep, 41-year-old Miriam Elizabeth Sanderson, and a passenger, 34-year-old Meghan Eastlee Sanderson, both of Mound, were not injured in the crash.
