Three people were hurt early Sunday after a pickup driver allegedly under the influence struck two other vehicles in Monticello.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened around 12:12 a.m. Oct. 12 on Highway 25 at 7th Street.

Investigators said a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 40-year-old Tyler Scott Wild, of Zimmerman, was headed north on Highway 25 when it collided with a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze traveling west on 7th Street, then struck a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu heading south on Highway 25.

The State Patrol said Wild suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Saint Cloud Hospital. Alcohol was detected in his system, according to the crash report.

The 17-year-old driver of the Cruze, from Monticello, was taken to CentraCare Monticello with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Malibu, identified as 42-year-old Nathan Patrick Gibb, of Redwood Falls, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center.

All three drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Road conditions were reported as dry.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, CentraCare Ambulance and Monticello Fire Department assisted at the scene.
