Two teenage boys were shot in Minneapolis early Sunday afternoon, police say.

Officers arrived and located a 16-year-old boy with an apparent gunshot wound. He was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by paramedics to Hennepin Healthcare for treatment.

As officers worked the scene and collected evidence, they were informed that another 16-year-old had arrived at Hennepin Healthcare in a private vehicle. That teen had life-threatening gunshot wounds. Investigators believe both teens were shot during the same incident.

Police secured the area and canvassed for evidence and witnesses. Crime scene personnel from the Minneapolis Forensic Division also responded to process the scene.

As of Sunday evening, no arrests have been made. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
