According to initial information, a road rage dispute between drivers on the highway continued onto Duluth Street just east of the interchange, where the situation intensified and a man was struck by a vehicle.
Emergency responders and the Golden Valley Fire Department arrived shortly after and provided medical aid to those at the scene. Police say multiple people, including suspects and witnesses, were taken to North Memorial Hospital for evaluation. One man died from his injuries later that night.
Golden Valley police are investigating in coordination with the Hennepin County Crime Lab and the Minnesota State Patrol Crash Reconstruction Unit. Officials say they have identified everyone involved and are reviewing surveillance footage and witness statements as part of the ongoing case.
Multiple suspects are currently in custody, and authorities say there is no active threat to the public. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 763-593-8079 or police@goldenvalleymn.gov.
