Two men died early Friday after a shooting in Saint Paul’s North End neighborhood that police say appears to have been a domestic-related exchange of gunfire.

Officers were called to the 400 block of Front Avenue around 4:20 a.m. for reports of shots fired.

They found an adult male lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. Despite life-saving efforts by officers and Saint Paul Fire medics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second man later arrived at a nearby Saint Paul Fire station on Front Street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Regions Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Police spokesperson Nikki Muehlhausen said investigators believe the two men knew each other and that the shooting was domestic in nature. Early evidence indicates both men fired at one another.

A firearm was recovered at the scene, and homicide investigators are working to determine what led to the confrontation. Officers had a large portion of the neighborhood taped off through the morning hours while collecting evidence.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct autopsies to confirm the victims’ identities and determine their exact causes of death.

These are the tenth and eleventh homicides of 2025 in Saint Paul. Police say there were 23 at this point last year.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the men as Lasean T. Williams, 28, of Saint Louis Park, and Lawrence A. Harris, 30, of Saint Paul. There has been no further information released on the incident as of now.
