1 Arrested After Suspected OD Death in Minneapolis

Minneapolis police say they’ve made an arrest after a man was found dead inside a residence on the 200 block of W. 15th St. around 11 a.m. Friday morning.

According to police, a preliminary investigation indicates that the victim may have been given a narcotic by the suspect, 39-year-old Dewayne Wesley Center, leading to his death. Center was a resident and was known to the victim, police say.

Center was arrested and held on probable cause 3rd-degree murder, but he has not yet been formally charged. Minneapolis homicide investigators and forensic scientists collected evidence and began an investigation.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the deceased man’s name, along with a cause and manner of death at a later time.
