15-year-old Girl Dies After Being Shot in the Back
Minneapolis police say a girl has died at the hospital after she was shot around 10 p.m. Saturday.
Minneapolis officers responded to North Memorial Medical Center on a report of a shooting victim that was brought to the hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite doctors’ best efforts, the teenager died.
Homicide investigators are still working to determine where the shooting occurred and who was involved. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday.
The victim was identified as 15-year-old Marleisha Victory Davenport, of South Saint Paul. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner ruled her death a homicide, caused by a single gunshot wound to the back.
