67-year-old Driver Killed in Semi Rollover on Highway 15

A semi-truck crash on a snow-covered highway in McLeod County early Tuesday resulted in a fatality, authorities confirm.

The incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. Feb. 11 on Highway 15 near Echo Drive Southeast in Hutchinson.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the semi was traveling northbound when it failed to navigate a curve, left the roadway, rolled and struck a tree.

Emergency responders from the Hutchinson Police Department and Hutchinson Fire Department assisted at the scene. Road conditions at the time of the crash were reported as snowy and icy.

The identity of the driver, a 67-year-old man from Lincoln, Neb., is expected to be released Wednesday evening. The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
