The crash occurred at 7:17 a.m. on northbound Highway 71 near Milepost 124 in Willmar Township.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2018 Peterbilt straight truck driven by Terry Allan Vreeman struck the bridge while traveling on the highway.
