Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Shorewood Under Investigation

 

A 65-year-old woman was fatally struck by a driver on Highway 7 in Shorewood on Friday afternoon, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The incident occurred around 1:03 p.m. near the intersection of eastbound Highway 7 and Christmas Lake Road.

Authorities say the pedestrian was in the crosswalk when she was hit by a 2019 Ford F150. The vehicle, driven by a 54-year-old from Shorewood, was turning from southbound Christmas Lake Road onto eastbound Highway 7 when the collision occurred. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

The pedestrian's identity has not yet been released.

The Minnesota State Patrol is continuing its investigation into the incident.
