Fatal Stabbing Under Investigation in Montevideo

Montevideo police are investigating after a man was found dead with a stab wound in the parking lot of the post office in the 300 block of 1st Street early Monday morning.

The man was found by a postal worker around 6:30 a.m. and his name has not yet been released as of Tuesday.

"This investigation is still in the very early stages. There is no known threat to the public," Montevideo PD said in a written statement.

While the death is called "suspicious," there has been no other information released.

Police have not yet said if any suspects are being sought. The Minnesota BCA is assisting with the investigation.
