Man Killed in Early Saturday Saint Paul Shooting

Saint Paul police have confirmed a shooting early Saturday morning on the 1000 block of Pacific St. in the city's Dayton's Bluff neighborhood was fatal and is being investigated as a homicide.

According to initial information, officers were dispatched around 2:40 a.m. to the residence after multiple 911 callers reported gunshots were fired and that a male was shot.

An adult male gunshot victim was found inside the residence, with officers reporting a "chaotic" and "hostile" scene. The man was transported to Regions Hospital and later pronounced dead.

Homicide Investigators are working to determine what led up to the incident and, according to initial radio dispatches, witnesses at the scene were not forthcoming with information.

It’s the 14th homicide of 2023 in Saint Paul. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 651-266-5650.

UPDATE: The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as Michael Martin, 35, of Saint Paul. As of Tuesday, May 16, there had been no arrests announced in relation to the shooting.
