Moorhead Woman Accused of Stabbing Husband

A Moorhead woman has been charged with attempted second-degree murder after allegedly stabbing her husband during an altercation at their home.

According to a criminal complaint, officers were called to a Fargo hospital on March 15, 2025, after a man showed up there with multiple stab wounds.

The stabbing victim, identified as the husband of 41-year-old Amy Ann Kelly-Skeie, suffered injuries to his chest and arm, including a critical puncture wound that required surgery to repair a severed artery.

Investigators learned that the couple had been drinking the night before and began arguing after Kelly-Skeie was accused of kissing another man. The dispute escalated and the victim said someone "came flying at me with a knife." After being stabbed, he asked Kelly-Skeie for a towel to prevent the blood from staining the carpet.

The victim initially resisted involving law enforcement and instead called Kelly-Skeie’s brother for a ride to the hospital. When Kelly-Skeie saw him making the call, she allegedly threatened to harm herself and suggested turning herself in. She later left the home and drove to West Fargo.

Authorities responding to the scene found a large amount of blood and recovered a kitchen knife with biological material. The victim disclosed that his wife had previously used knives in arguments to intimidate him.

Kelly-Skeie was taken into custody and charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault causing great bodily harm and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon. She remains held on a $100,000 bail with conditions including a no-contact order with her husband, random testing and no alcohol use. If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison.
