Motorcyclist Killed in Coon Rapids Crash

The Coon Rapids Police Department says a 25-year-old man is dead after witnesses say he ran a red light and was struck by a vehicle Thursday evening.

Police were called to the intersection of Northdale Boulevard Northwest and Round Lake Boulevard Northwest just before 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Officers arrived and found bystanders providing CPR to the motorcyclist. Paramedics transported the man to Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

According to initial information from authorities, multiple witnesses reported that the motorcyclist entered the intersection against a red light. The driver of the other involved vehicle is fully cooperating with the investigation.

The deceased man’s name is expected to be released by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office at a later date.
