SCANNER: Woman Killed in Downtown Minneapolis Shooting, Man Hurt

Minneapolis police are investigating a homicide after a shooting downtown Saturday, May 8 left a woman dead and a man injured.

The gunfire rang out near S. 9th St. & Lasalle Ave. around 10:20 p.m., with police later finding the female victim there with a gunshot wound to the head. The man was found nearby and was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to initial dispatch audio, police were looking for a black male suspect wearing a black sweater and white t-shirt, who may have gotten into a smaller, four-door red sedan, possibly a Honda, that was last seen southbound form Lasalle & 9th.

The fatal shooting is the 26th homicide of 2021 in Minneapolis.

The victim of the fatal shooting was identified Monday afternoon by the medical examiner as Ariana Marie Bradley, 24. She died at the scene of multiple gunshot wounds.

Police have arrested two people in relation to the homicide. Sheavery Sharnez Starr, 30 and Otis Terrell Givens, 45, were arrested in separate locations, MPD says. Their booking photos were not immediately available. Starr was released from the Hennepin County Jail by Monday afternoon, pending formal charges, and Givens was being held without bail on probable cause murder.
