State Patrol Investigating Fatal Dakota County Crash

Minnesota State Patrol reports a 17-year-old boy is dead and two other people injured after a three-vehicle crash in Dakota County.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of 160th Street East and Freeborn Avenue in Vermillion Township just before 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to the State Patrol, a 2007 Toyota Corolla driven by 17-year-old Rodrigo Leon Dooley of Farmington was east on 160th Street East and was slowing to make a left turn. That’s when a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 49-year-old Gina Lynn Jermasek of Hastings struck the rear end of the Corolla, pushing it into oncoming traffic before being stuck head-on by the third vehicle, a Chrysler Minivan with four occupants.

According to a media release, Dooley was ejected from the vehicle and was later pronounced deceased. Jermasek and a passenger of the minivan suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
