Suspect Found Dead After Standoff With Police in Anoka County
A male suspect died Wednesday from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound After a SWAT incident at a St. Francis home.
Police say that around 6:30 p.m. on April 23, an officer near the 23400 block of Lackawanna Street NW saw the man outside and recognized he had a warrant for his arrest.
When the officer attempted to make contact, the man ran into a nearby home and a suspected gunshot was heard moments later, authorities said.

Officers from multiple agencies responded, including the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, Ramsey and Anoka Police Departments, Anoka County SWAT and Allina EMS. A wide perimeter was established around the home, with several neighboring streets blocked off to traffic while the situation unfolded.
After attempts at negotiation, SWAT officers later entered the residence using a drone and located the man inside, deceased with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. No officers fired their weapons and no one else was hurt, authorities said.
According to initial information, the suspect was wanted on at least one sexual assault charge, though further details on the warrant and any charges he faced have not been confirmed.
The incident remains under investigation by the St. Francis Police Department, the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office. The man’s identity had not yet been released as of Thursday afternoon.
