Teen Arrested After 19-year-old Woman Fatally Stabbed in Duluth
Duluth police say a 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with 2nd-degree homicide after his 19-year-old family member was found fatally stabbed Friday night.
Just after 6:40 p.m. Friday, March 11, police were called to the 1700 block of E. Superior St. for a report of an adult male family member who had been assaulted. When officers got there, they investigated and spoke to the man who had allegedly been assaulted.
Police determined there had been no assault and cleared the scene around 6:55 p.m., police said.
Officers were dispatched again just minutes later, around 7:04 p.m., to the same address, this time for a medical call.
When they returned, police found 19-year-old Karimah Phuly unresponsive and with multiple stab wounds.
Paramedics responded to assist but Phuly was pronounced dead at the scene.

Phuly was identified by police on Tuesday, but the 15-year-old suspect has not yet been identified. The suspect was formally charged with 2nd-degree homicide on Tuesday by the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office.
“This is a tragic event and the Duluth Police Department’s condolences go out to the family, friends, and loved ones of the (victim),” a Duluth Police Department media release said.
“This is still a very active and ongoing investigation and once more details become available, we will release them,” the department said in the release.
