A woman was seriously injured in a drive-by shooting near Highway 100 in Golden Valley on Saturday evening.

Just after 8:30 p.m., officers were dispatched near Duluth St. & Regent Ave. N. for the report of two vehicles traveling in the area and ensuing gunshots, according to a city media release.

Multiple gunshots were fired and one female victim in a vehicle was struck. According to initial dispatch audio, an Allina EMS crew in the area witnessed the gunfire. They called in to dispatch to report the incident and could be seen in video from a MnDOT traffic camera quickly loading up the injured victim.

A vehicle was reported to have fled from the scene after the shooting, but authorities have not yet released any suspect vehicle information as of early Sunday.

Golden Valley police say the shooting remains an active investigation and no further information is available yet.

The victim—who has not yet been identified—was reported to be in stable condition at the hospital as of early Sunday afternoon after initially being listed in critical condition.

The suspect vehicle, which fled the area eastbound on Golden Valley Road, is a light-colored sedan with yellow headlights. It was occupied by possibly two unknown individuals, police said.
