Serious Crash Requires Dive Team Callout in Arden Hills

Emergency crews in Arden Hills responded to a two-car crash near the intersection of Highway 96 and Hamline Ave. N. around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputies arrived and found one vehicle with heavy damage, and a person apparently ejected from the vehicle, with CPR being performed by a bystander.

A second injured person was also located, but the extent of their injuries is unknown. A second vehicle was located submerged in a pond about 125 feet from the roadway. The sheriff's department dive team was requested to the scene and the submerged vehicle was pulled from the water just before 10:15 p.m. Radio reports said the vehicle appeared to be unoccupied.

The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with crash reconstruction.

UPDATE: Police say the driver who was struck in this crash died of his injuries. The man who is believed to have caused it was arrested.
