Minnesota State Patrol High Speed Chase in Roseville - Jan. 15
State Troopers were in pursuit of a driver who fled from an attempted traffic stop. The driver was eventually nabbed near I-35W & Hwy. 280.
Suspects Flee From Vehicle, Attempt to Carjack Others - Jan. 31
Roseville squads were following a vehicle on Highway 36. The registered owner had a felony warrant and an extensive weapons history. The vehicle was followed on I-35E to the Maryland Ave exit in Saint Paul where a PIT maneuver was successful and several occupants fled on foot.

Dakota Co. Pursuit Ends With Crash and Foot Pursuit in Richfield - Feb. 6
A chase that started in Dakota County and ended on the Richfield/Minneapolis border with a foot pursuit of the suspect. The driver led authorities westbound on Highway 62 before crashing into a vehicle on the on-ramp near Portland Ave. S., a PIT maneuver by squads and an ensuing foot pursuit. Video released to us shows a trooper climbing over the SUV and running after the suspect before successfully apprehending him.

Standoff After Squad Rammed in Eagan - March 22
Dramatic video shows the moments after an armed suspect rammed an Eagan police squad car and started a brief standoff that ended near Pilot Knob Rd. & I-35E around 4 p.m. Eagan police were asked by St. Paul police to help with stopping the Jeep, occupied by two people with felony warrants who were believed to be armed. The driver of the Jeep, Joshua Cameron Hanes, 32, allegedly rammed a squad car after officers attempted to stop his vehicle. Both Hanes and his passenger, Taryn Rose Tillman, 32, refused to exit the Jeep after the crash and a brief standoff ensued.
Cameras Catch Pursuit, Crash in Hudson - March 24
St Croix County Sheriff deputies pursued a vehicle headed Westbound on I-94 before the vehicle crashed just before crossing into Minnesota. The driver was extricated from the vehicle and was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
Driver Makes Sunroof Escape After High-Speed Chase into Minneapolis
In this exclusive video of a pursuit, the driver pops up through the sunroof, walking away from the wreckage. At least a half-dozen officers move in, ordering him to stop. He refuses and one officer deploys a taser on him, bringing him to the ground, where he is cuffed and walked back to a waiting squad.

Crash, Explosion in Minneapolis' Lowry Tunnel - April 18
One person died in a fiery, high-speed crash in the westbound lanes of the Lowry Tunnel on Interstate 94 in downtown Minneapolis just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday, April 18. - A sedan crashed into the divider between the eastbound and westbound lanes and erupted into a ball of flames, creating heavy smoke in the tunnel. One other person was injured in the incident, with severe burns and was transported to the hospital.
'Racers' Occupy I-94 Lowry Tunnel in Minneapolis
A group of what law enforcement refer to as "street racers" shut down a section of the Lowry Hill tunnel on Interstate 94 in downtown Minneapolis in the early morning hours of Sunday, April 11, 2021, doing burnouts inside and closing all westbound lanes for at least 30 minutes. Exclusive video released to MN CRIME shows dozens of vehicles stopped inside and State Troopers eventually rousting the group from the tunnel.

Trooper Makes Spinning PIT Maneuver in Brooklyn Park - May 30
A Minnesota State Trooper was in a short pursuit of a driver shortly after 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 30, when the officer used a PIT maneuver to spin out the vehicle near Boone Ave. & I-694 in Brooklyn Park. The initial reason for the pursuit was not immediately available. The suspect attempted to continue driving through the intersection, and the Trooper spun the vehicle around again and eventually disabled it.

Police Chase in Maplewood Ends After Multiple PIT Maneuvers - June 21
A suspect driving a previously stolen vehicle was in a pursuit with officers on June 21, and was eventually taken into custody after several PIT maneuvers.

90-year-old Driver Hurt in Crash with Semi in Lakeville - July 1
A crash between a passenger vehicle and a Freightliner semi on northbound I-35 in Lakeville around 11:15 a.m. Thursday, July 1, that injured a 90-year-old Burnsville man. He was in a 2009 Lincoln MKZ on the right shoulder near 210th St. when he crossed into the lanes of traffic, colliding with the semi. Both vehicles came to rest in the right ditch after rolling off the shoulder.

Fatal Single-Engine Plane Crash in Victoria - August 7
Video from a neighbor's home security camera shows a fatal, single-engine plane crash in Victoria, Minn. It happened on the 7900 block of Rose St. around 5:40 p.m. The video shows the plane hitting the ground at high speed before it explodes into flames in the vacant lot and skids towards a nearby home.
Driver of Stolen Truck Nabbed After Pursuit - Aug. 31
A man is in custody after allegedly stealing a pickup and leading authorities on a high-speed chase from Little Canada to Saint Paul. After Troopers spotted the stolen truck around 10:50 a.m., the pursuit began on Interstate 35 from around Highway 8 and continued on 35E through Saint Paul. Officers were eventually able to stop the driver near southbound 35E and the exit to Grand Avenue.

Not-So-High-Speed Chase in Lino Lakes - Sept. 6
A suspected intoxicated driver was taken into custody on Monday afternoon after leading Lino Lakes police on a not-so-high-speed chase on I-35W near Main St. The driver of the vehicle was located in the woods and taken into custody by officers.
Serious Crash Caught on Camera in Fridley - Sept. 21
The State Patrol says an Acura being driven by a 29-year-old Spooner, Wisc. man was southbound on Hwy. 65 at a high rate of speed when it hit the traffic light in the intersection. The car was cut in half and struck a Mitsubishi Mirage stopped at the red light. The driver of the Acura, Alex W. Tuerk, was taken to North Memorial with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle had non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were involved.

Officers Detain Man Who Ran Across I-494 in IGH - Oct. 3
Officers from several jurisdictions assisted in safely detaining a man who ran across lanes of traffic on I-494 on the Sunfish Lake/Inver Grove Heights border on Sunday afternoon and continued to flee as they tried to intervene. State Troopers shut down lanes of traffic as the man walked across an overpass and appeared as if he was about to jump. Officers made contact with him on foot but he fled again, down to the interstate, where he laid down on the shoulder before officers detained him and walked him to nearby medics for an evaluation just after 2:30 p.m.

Dangerous Road Conditions Lead to Huge Pile-Up in Eagan - Nov. 13
Icy roads led to a huge pileup on Cedar Ave. at I-35E in Eagan around 7:30 a.m. While Eagan emergency crews were on the scene of a crash in the southbound lanes, a three-car crash occurred in the northbound lanes. Several other drivers that were unable to stop either crashed or slid into the pile of cars, resulting in two people being struck by a car, one of which was a firefighter. Both appeared to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to radio traffic. A total of 11 cars were involved according to footage from MnDOT traffic cameras. Crews remained on the scene and shut down Cedar Ave. as they cleared vehicles and debris from the roadway.

Semi Truck Plows Into Guardrail and Overturns on I-35E - Dec. 23
2 With Warrants Nabbed After High-Speed Chase on I-35E, I-94 - Dec. 23
State Troopers were in pursuit of a driver Thursday afternoon who fled from an attempted traffic stop near southbound I-35E & Roselawn Ave. The driver continued into Saint Paul, westbound on I-94 and then northbound on Hwy. 280. Troopers boxed in the driver just south of Hwy. 36 and reported both the driver and passenger were taken into custody shortly after the state traffic camera feed was cut. Both suspects had active warrants and a Trooper squad was damaged during the pursuit. No injuries reported.
