13-year-old Dies After Falling Off Bicycle in Farmington
Farmington police say a 13-year-old boy is dead after falling off his bicycle near the intersection of 224th Street West & Canova Court in Farmington last Saturday evening.
Crews were called just after 8 p.m. to the accident. After arriving to the crash location and finding the bicyclist down, first responders provided life-saving measures. The boy, identified by authorities as Madden D. McKean, was pronounced dead at the scene of an apparent head injury.
“By all accounts, Madden was an extraordinary young man that touched the lives of everyone he met. Our thoughts are with his family and friends, and anyone else affected by this horrific event,” said Farmington Police Chief Gary Rutherford in a written statement.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will determine McKean’s cause of death, police said, and further details have not been released.
