18-year-old Arrested for New Year's Eve Mall of America Shooting
Bloomington police have arrested a man suspected of a shooting inside the Mall of America on New Year's Eve that injured two people. Kahlil Markell Wiley, 18, of Saint Paul, was arrested around 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4 on the 2600 block of Rice St. in Roseville and a firearm was recovered at the scene, police said.
Wiley is being held on suspicion of 1st-degree assault with further charges forthcoming from the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.

Two people were injured in the shooting on the third floor of the mall just before 5 p.m. New Year’s Eve. Police said it stemmed from a dispute between one of the victims and the shooter. A bystander was grazed by the bullet, and the other victim was transported for non-life-threatening injuries.
On Sunday, Jan. 2, around 4:50 p.m., Bloomington SWAT, Roseville and Ramsey County officers arrested another man who they believe is related to the incident. Latrell Avonte Littles, 19, of Saint Paul, was apprehended at a motel on the 2300 block of Cleveland Ave. N. in Roseville. Police say Littles was booked for aiding/abetting 1st-degree assault and was identified leaving the mall with the suspect who pulled the trigger.
