18-year-old to Stand Trial for Fatal Mall of America Shooting
A teenager has been ordered to stand trial as an adult for his alleged role in a fatal shooting inside the Mall of America in December last year. Lavon Sema-J Longstreet, now 18, faces 2nd-degree murder and 2nd-degree assault charges after the fatal shooting Dec. 23. He was 17 years old at the time.

A suspect fleeing from the scene of gunshots fired toward a residence in Bloomington led officers on a pursuit that ended in a crash off Hwy. 77 at Cliff Rd. in Eagan early Thursday evening. The gunshots were reportedly fired on the 8500 block of 2nd Ave. S., with a vehicle seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed to the south.

A Bloomington man has been charged with 2nd-degree murder after allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend multiple times and lighting her on fire at a Saint Paul shipping warehouse, then fleeing the scene and starting his own house ablaze. Patrick Morris Simmons, 47, was formally charged Wednesday, with the court documents giving more insight into the circumstances of the woman’s grisly death.
Man Arrested After Woman Found Fatally Burned at Saint Paul Shipping Warehouse
A woman found badly burned and unresponsive at a shipping warehouse Tuesday morning in Saint Paul has died of her injuries and a man has been arrested in relation, police say. Police were called to the 1700 block of Wynne Ave. just before 9 a.m. for a report of “a woman on fire.” When officers arrived, they located a woman in her 40s who was unresponsive, not breathing and appeared to have been badly burned, SPPD said in a media release.
18-year-old Arrested for New Year's Eve Mall of America Shooting
Bloomington police have arrested a man suspected of a shooting inside the Mall of America on New Year's Eve that injured two people. Kahlil Markell Wiley, 18, of Saint Paul, was arrested around 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4 on the 2600 block of Rice St. in Roseville and a firearm was recovered at the scene, police said. Wiley is being held on suspicion of 1st-degree assault with further charges forthcoming from the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.
2 Injured in Shooting at Mall of America on New Year’s Eve
Bloomington police are investigating after two people were injured after a shooting occurred inside the Mall of America on Friday evening just before 5 p.m. Police officers inside the mall located two victims near Sears Court on the third floor of the mall. One victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, and another had suffered a wound to the shoulder. Both injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening.
Man Charged With Stabbing Girlfriend, Dumping Body in Bloomington Dumpster
Police have identified the man suspected of stabbing his girlfriend in Bloomington earlier this week, putting her body in a dumpster and leading officers on a pursuit into south Minneapolis with their child in the vehicle.
Ahmed Abdilahi, 23, is currently being held at the Hennepin County Jail and on Wednesday was formally charged with intentional 2nd-degree murder and one count of fleeing a peace officer.
Abdilahi is scheduled to make his first appearance Thursday.

A rollover crash overnight in Bloomington on southbound Highway 169 at Old Shakopee Rd sent at least one victim to the hospital with injuries. Emergency crews had been called for the rollover just after 3 a.m. When crews arrived, they found the vehicle on fire.
High-Speed Chase Ends in Fiery Head-On Crash in Bloomington
State Troopers near Owatonna spotted a freshly stolen vehicle from the Holiday gas station on I-35, just north of the city late Sunday afternoon, April 25. Troopers initiated a pursuit and the driver fled at a high rate of speed to the north. Troopers continued the pursuit north into the city of Bloomington.

Officers from multiple jurisdictions were in an armed standoff with a man who was reported to have fired several gunshots in the area of Portland Ave. S. & I-494 on Thursday, March 18. - Police blocked I-494 in both directions as they attempted to negotiate with the man, who was reported to have fired several groups of gunshots and was repeatedly yelling at officers to shoot him.
