2 Women Dead, Man Hospitalized After Mobile Home Fire

A pre-dawn fire tore through a mobile home in Jordan on Wednesday, claiming the lives of two women and leaving a man in serious condition.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the Valley Green Mobile Homes Park, 300 Valley Green Park, around 3:30 a.m. April 16 after getting a report of a residential fire.

Officers with the Jordan Police Department and crews from the Jordan Fire Department arrived to find the structure fully engulfed in flames.

According to a media release from Jordan Police Chief Brett Empey, an adult male resident had managed to exit the home before responders arrived and told them that two women remained inside. Firefighters entered the burning residence and located both women, carrying them out and beginning life-saving efforts.

One of the women was pronounced dead at the scene, officials confirmed later Wednesday. The other woman, along with the male survivor, were both transported by ambulance to the hospital. Despite medical efforts, the second woman was also later pronounced deceased. The man remains hospitalized in serious condition as of publication.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims, pending notification of family.

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene and is conducting an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
