3 Dead, 1 Injured in Crow Wing County Crash
Three people were killed and one was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 169 in Garrison Township Sunday afternoon.
Authorities say the crash occurred around 12:40 p.m. near Channel Drive when a southbound Ford F150 crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with a Dodge Durango.
Road conditions at the time were described as snow- and ice-covered.
The driver of the Ford F150, identified as Lee William Page, 59, of Coon Rapids, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Lisa Marie Brunes, also 59 and from Coon Rapids, was fatally injured. Officials confirmed that both occupants had been wearing seat belts, and airbags deployed in the vehicle. It is not yet known if alcohol was a factor.
The Dodge Durango was driven by Jeremy James Hohansee, 53, of Remer. He was taken to Essentia Hospital in Baxter with injuries described as non-life-threatening. His wife, Kari Sue Hohansee, 51, a passenger in the vehicle, also suffered fatal injuries. Both had been wearing seat belts, and airbags deployed in the vehicle.
Emergency responders from the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, Mille Lacs Tribal Police, Garrison Fire Department, and CRMC Ambulance assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
