Infant Boy Dies In Owatonna Crash Wednesday Morning

An infant boy was killed in a rollover crash on Interstate 35 near Owatonna Wednesday morning, authorities confirm.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 25-year-old man and two children—a four-year-old girl and an infant boy—were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

It happened around 7:41 a.m. when a 1999 Ford Ranger traveling northbound on I-35 lost control on snow- and ice-covered roads near Steele County Road 9. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled into the right ditch.

According to the State Patrol, Dominic Owen Hosteller, 25, was driving the Ford Ranger and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A four-year-old female also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident report states that all three occupants wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

As of 3 p.m., the Minnesota State Patrol responded to 122 crashes on Wednesday, 14 of which involved injuries, but no additional fatalities.
