Suspect Injured After Crashing Stolen Vehicle in Minneapolis

A 19-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after crashing a stolen vehicle into a wall on Interstate 35W in Minneapolis on Monday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash occurred at approximately 11:54 a.m. near 35th Street on southbound I-35W.

Authorities believe the driver lost control of the 2020 Hyundai Elantra before it struck the wall. Preliminary reports indicate the driver may have been impaired at the time of the crash.

The driver was transported to Hennepin Healthcare by ambulance. According to the State Patrol, no airbags were deployed during the crash.

Authorities have not yet released the driver's name. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be made as more information becomes available.
