Eagan Man Accused of Firing Shots Inside Townhome; 9 Guns Seized
A 51-year-old Eagan man has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm after allegedly firing gunshots inside a townhome last weekend.
Randall John Reeverts is facing the felony charge after an incident that started around 8 p.m. Sunday, April 24 at a townhome complex on Blue Jay Way in Eagan. Multiple 911 callers reported hearing gunfire.
Shortly after officers arrived in the area, another 911 call came in from Reeverts’ wife, who said he was drinking, “acting crazy,” and “firing shots” from inside their residence, according to court documents.
Witnesses later told investigators they heard around 6 gunshots over the course of 10 minutes.
The woman made contact with officers outside and was not injured.

She told officers that Reeverts had consumed around 24 beers since noon and was suffering from depression. He was upset with her and made several comments about shooting a gun, documents said.
The woman said she and Reeverts are gun enthusiasts and own several firearms including “high-powered rifles.”
A perimeter was set up around the townhome complex and officers reached Reeverts by phone, telling him to come out. He refused and wouldn’t respond to further attempts at communication.
After a SWAT team and armored vehicle were called to the scene, Reeverts exited the front door of the residence and was taken into custody without further incident by around 11:30 p.m.
Officers checked nearby units and found no one was injured. After a search warrant, officers found multiple bullet holes in a wall and window. Nine firearms and a “substantial amount” of ammunition were seized from the townhome, documents said.
The charge of reckless discharge of a firearm carries a maximum penalty of two years in prison and/or a fine up to $5,000. Reeverts’ next court date is set for May 10.
In December 2020, Reeverts was convicted of 4th-degree DWI and was sentenced to two years of probation.
