A large blaze early Saturday morning on the 200 block of E. Main St. in Waterville left a local bar with extensive damage.

Firefighters were called around 3 a.m. to the Funky Munky Saloon and Grill at 256 E. Main St.

They found heavy fire and worked with more than a half-dozen other departments to contain the blaze from spreading to other nearby businesses.

A large section of the bar’s roof eventually caved in.

Photos captured by our crew from the scene Saturday show heavy damage to the structure, with barricades blocking traffic and water from the firefight still draining away.
