Man Dies in House Fire Near Ely
Emergency personnel were called to the report of the structure fire just after 1:15 p.m. Sunday on the 1400 block of Grant McMahan Boulevard in Morse Township, near Ely. 911 callers reported that the elderly homeowner was believed to still be inside.
Fireworks Ignited Massive Apartment Blaze, Investigators Believe
Firefighters were first called to a report of a grass fire that had spread to some trees up against the apartment building. The fire then spread from the trees and into the attic space above the third floor apartments. Investigators say firework debris was found near where the fire started.
Man Critically Injured After UTV Struck By Pick-Up Truck
The State Patrol says a 22-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after he crossed Highway 169 on a UTV and was struck by a pickup truck near Vernon Center in Blue Earth County on Thursday afternoon. State Troopers were called to the intersection of Highway 169 and County Road 31 in Vernon Center Township around 3:15 p.m.

2 Dead After Airplane Crashes in Woods Near Duluth
Crews were called to the 8300 block of Pequaywan Lake Road, about 25 miles north of Duluth in an unorganized township after the US Air Force received an aircraft beacon alarm. A spotter plane in the area observed possible wreckage on the ground and guided deputies to the location. Upon arrival, deputies found both the pilot and the passenger deceased.
Murder Charge Filed in Fatal Fish Lake Township Fire
A Wright County man has been charged with 2nd-degree murder and 1st-degree assault after allegedly setting a fire at a Chisago County home early Sunday that left a man dead and woman injured. According to the criminal complaint, officers were called to a residence on the 400 block of Cambridge Drive in Chisago County in response to a fire in progress around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office says criminal charges will be filed against a man accused of intentionally setting a house on fire, causing the death of a man and leaving a woman with severe burn injuries.
Man Charged After White Bear Lake Fire Injures 1
A man is charged with a felony after allegedly causing a fire at a White Bear Lake four-plex that critically injured a woman who was unable to escape the residence late Saturday night. 45-year-old Christian Thomas Dahm, of White Bear Lake, is charged with one felony count of negligent fires causing great bodily harm. The charge carries a possible sentence of up to five years in prison.
White Bear Lake Blaze Injures 1; Possibly Intentionally Set
Backup was requested for officers who were fighting with a possible suspect outside and a victim later rescued from the residence. Fire crews arrived and reported the structure was fully involved with heavy fire showing. Officers reported that a victim was trapped inside and fire command requested a second alarm to respond.
Man Indicted in Minneapolis Mosque Arson Fires
A Plymouth man has been indicted on one count of arson and one count of damage to religious property in relation to two fires set in south Minneapolis mosques. According to court documents, on April 23 around 7 p.m., Jackie Rahm Little, 36, started a fire in the bathroom of the Masjid Omar Islamic Center.
Infant Dies After Cannon Falls Apartment Fire; 3 Others Hurt
One of three children who were hospitalized following a Cannon Falls apartment fire has died of her injuries. 10-month-old Seqouyah Kelleymae Johnson died early Friday morning at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, according to a media release from the medical examiner’s office. The cause of her death was listed as smoke inhalation.
Homeowner Pulled from Mounds View Fire, Hospitalized
The Spring Lake Park – Blaine – Mounds View Fire Department responded to a structure fire Sunday just before 11 a.m. on a report of smoke showing from a residence on the 7000 block of Groveland Road. In a media release, SBM Chief Dan Retka says crews arrived and found fire on the main level of the home. A neighbor reported to firefighters that the homeowner may still have been inside the home.
Woman Charged With Arson in Stearns County House Fire
A North Dakota woman has been charged with arson after allegedly setting a home on fire with a propane torch last Thursday in Stearns County. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office was dispatched on April 6 around 2:15 p.m. to the 43900 block of 248th Avenue in Krain Township, about 15 miles east of Sauk Centre, for a report of a dwelling fire.
Man Jumps to Safety From Burning Home Near Cook
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says two people were able to escape a house fire early Thursday morning, with one of the residents jumping from a 2nd-story window. Emergency crews were dispatched to the 9900 block of Highway 22 in Alango Township, which is south of Cook. Dispatch received a 911 call from a resident saying there was smoke coming from the upstairs bedroom, where her nephew had been staying.
2 Teens Dead After Late-Night Crash in Saint Paul
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that left two teenagers dead in Saint Paul late Friday night. Emergency crews were called just after 11 p.m. to Highway 61, north of Lower Afton Rd. for a single-vehicle crash.
Driver Dies After Collision with School Bus in Minnetonka
The Minnesota State Patrol has confirmed that one person has died after a crash involving a car and school bus in Minnetonka late Monday afternoon. Emergency crews responded to Highway 62 near Shady Oak Rd. around 3:50 p.m. and discovered a school bus loaded with 22 kids in the center median along with a passenger vehicle with significant damage.
Overnight 2-Alarm Fire in Hibbing Destroys Family Business
The Hibbing Fire Department responded to a large fire at Yoder Building Supplies just after 9:00 p.m. Friday evening. Fire crews arrived and found fire showing from the warehouse-style building. Firefighters reported the fire quickly spread and breached the roof which prompted a second alarm being called.
Rochester Firefighters Fight Mobile Home Blaze Early Friday Morning
Rochester firefighters were called to Bob’s Trailer Court early Friday morning for a report of a trailer on fire. Firefighters arrived and found half of a structure fully-involved and threatening other nearby structures. Crews quickly pulled hose lines and attempted to knock down the fire from the outside to protect nearby buildings.

11 Displaced After Maplewood Townhome Fire
MAPLEWOOD—Firefighters responded to a structure fire in a townhome on the 2800 block of Southlawn Dr. just after 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Crews arrived and encountered heavy fire in one unit of a three-unit townhome building and began working to extinguish the blaze. The fire ultimately affected all three units.
