Rochester Firefighters Fight Mobile Home Blaze Early Friday Morning

Rochester firefighters were called to Bob’s Trailer Court early Friday morning for a report of a trailer on fire.

Firefighters arrived and found half of a structure fully-involved and threatening other nearby structures.

Crews quickly pulled hose lines and attempted to knock down the fire from the outside to protect nearby buildings.

Additional crews entered the structure to search for possible victims.

Firefighters say they found no one inside the structure and that the residents were gone at the time of the fire.

Crews remained on scene of two and a half hours performing overhaul to prevent a rekindle.

Firefighters say the home is a total loss and damage is estimated to be in excess of $50,000. The fire is still under investigation.

RPD asked to remind residents who may live in mobile homes that fires tend to spread quickly. Working smoke detectors and keeping all exits accessible and clear are extremely important.
