Chisago County Fire Death Being Investigated As Homicide

 

The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office says criminal charges will be filed against a man accused of intentionally setting a house on fire, causing the death of a man and leaving a woman with severe burn injuries.

Emergency crews responded to a home on the 45800 block of Cambridge Drive in Fish Lake Township around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, where they found the home engulfed in flames and two people outside with significant burn injuries. The male victim was flown to Hennepin County Medical Center where he later died. The female victim was brought by ambulance to Regions Hospital where she remains in critical but stable condition.

Authorities say the fire appears to have been intentionally set and a suspect in the incident has been taken into custody. They say no other suspects are being sought.
