Man Dies After South Minneapolis Shooting Late Sunday

A man died at the hospital Sunday night after being shot in Minneapolis.

Police said the shooting happened near 29th Street East and Clinton Avenue South just before 11:40 p.m.

Minneapolis Fire and Hennepin EMS initially responded for a report of a person down in the roadway. After finding that the man had been shot, first responders requested assistance from Minneapolis Police. The man was transported to Hennepin Healthcare, where he later died.

Homicide investigators are working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting. No arrests have been made.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner is expected to release the man’s name and the official cause and manner of death in the coming days.
